Meow Skateboards was founded in 2012 and is the brainchild of Lisa Whittaker who is also the creator of the Girls Skate Network. Lisa has been a pivotal force for the progression of female skateboarding over the past 10 years. Meow was created after Lisa realised there was very little support for female skateboarders across the globe. Due to skateboarding being such a heavily male-dominated activity, there wasn’t really anywhere available for these talented female skateboarders to get the recognition they deserved. Since its inception, Meow Skateboards sponsors some of the very best female skateboarders out there, such as Vanessa Torres, Kirstin Ebeling and Mariah Duran.
