Thrasher
Thrasher Magazine was first launched in January 1981 by Kevin Thatcher, Eric Swenson and Fausto Vitello, initially reporting on the American skateboarding scene and music-related articles of the time. Still in production to date, Thrasher is one of the most well-known figures in skateboard media. Headed for many years by influential editor Jake Phelps, they are responsible for reporting on some of the best skating around and currently operate the most visited skate website in the world. With its legendary cover photos, and iconic video segments, including ‘Firing Line,’ ‘Hall of Meat,’ and ‘Skate Line,’ Thrasher is known the world over, especially for its King Of The Road brand contest and their Skater Of The Year Awards. Expanding on their success in skateboard media, Thrasher has built a brand in itself that features complete apparel collections comprising of hoodies, t-shirts, hats and accessories that can be seen worn by skaters and non-skaters around the world. Thrasher has become known for its popular “Skate Mag” and “Flame Logo” designs.
