Birdhouse
Birdhouse Skateboards was founded by skateboarding legend Tony Hawk and ex-professional freestyle skateboarder Per Welinder after the pair left longtime sponsor Powell Peralta. Birdhouse established itself throughout the 1990s with their most defining period being around the release of classic skate film “The End” in 1998, that features skateboard pros Willy Santos, Andrew Reynolds, Brian Sumner, Steve Berra, Bucky Lasek Heath Kirchart and Jeremy Klien. This is considered one of the best videos of the period and is notable because a large portion of it was shot on 16mm film, which not only looks incredible but was also really expensive! Today Birdhouse is a respected brand with a new generation of skaters on the team that is going from strength to strength.
