New Era
The New Era brand had humble beginnings, established by Ehrhardt Koch in 1920, New York. The E. Koch Cap Company was created after borrowing $5,000 from his aunt. With just 14 employees in his first year Koch managed to produce 60,000 hats, which was an exceptional achievement considering the manufacturing capabilities of the day. After a name change to New Era, they began cementing their roots into Major League Baseball, by producing hats and caps designed on license specifically for certain baseball teams such as the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox and is now the official cap supplier to many more MLB’s teams. New Era is a widely recognised brand across the world now producing headwear for a wide range of sports teams that include the NFL, NHL, the British Football Premier League and many more. Known for their 59fifty ‘Brooklyn Style’ cap, New Era has expanded its reach well beyond sports, with numerous collaborations and limited edition runs, with influential brands and licenses with Marvel and DC comics.
