Adidas x Welcome Skateboards

If anyone knows how to collaborate properly, it’s Welcome Skateboards. In fact, when you look at its vast list of bands and brands they have worked together with, it’s hard to argue that they aren’t one of the very best to do it within the skateboarding industry. Over the past few years, Welcome have released capsules with Slipknot, Dark Souls, 686, Talking Heads, Adventure Time and even Britney, bitch. However, we aren’t here to talk about what Welcome have done in the past, no matter how impressive it is. We are here, of course, to look at the newest collaboration they have managed to muster up, and that’s with the sporting giant that is Adidas.

To be honest, Welcome have joined forces with Adidas Skateboarding before; in 2015 the first Adidas x Welcome capsule was released, combining Adidas’ sport heritage with Welcome’s occultist whimsy. It was a great collab, so good, in fact, I imagine Adidas have been ringing the Welcome offices for the past 11 years trying to sort another one out. Luckily for us all, 2026 was the year Welcome picked up the phone.

Of course, this drop is full of high-quality clothing, unquestionably classic skate shoe silhouettes and beautifully macabre Jason Celayar artwork. With a full tracksuit, sports jersey, T-shirt and a couple of pairs of shoes in the mix, there is almost definitely something for everyone in this collection. However, two pieces stand out to us here at Supereight.

Firstly, the T-shirt is an absolute beaut. So many collaborative clothing designs are stacked with as many separate logos as you can shake a stick at. No real design, just a big screamy, look-at-my-logo mess. Adidas and Welcome have managed to come correct, and although they have their respective logos on either side of the chest, there is also a gargantuan dragon graphic on the back, sitting atop a Tre-Foil logo. The Adidas Tre-Foil logo is iconic and has been around long before I was alive, and to incorporate that into another Jason Celayar gnarly masterpiece is pure class. Proper sporty goth vibes. All that on a high-quality 100% cotton Adidas T-shirt? It’s a no-brainer purchase.

Next up is the Superstar, possibly the most classic Adidas silhouette ever made. Similar to the T-shirt just mentioned, the Adidas x Welcome Superstar is an achievement of subtle brilliance. At first glance, you may not even notice that this has anything to do with Welcome Skateboards; however, when you have a proper look, the metallic gold ‘Welcome’ detail on the side panel, Jason Celayar rehash of the Tre-Foil logo on the tongue, and rad artwork placed on top of the insole just prove again that less can be more. All these details, combined with a black full-grain leather upper and white contrast stitching, create a truly great skate shoe.

There is always something so cool about two brands joining forces when they are (from the outside at least) such polar opposite backgrounds. As we all know, Adidas is one of the most successful sports brands in the world, an absolute household name. Welcome, on the other hand, comes from the shadows of the skateboarding community, making a name for itself by moving in the exact opposite direction of the mainstream flow. This collab proves you can breathe fresh air into products that have been around for decades; all you need to do is have a quick dabble with the occult. Or at least get friendly with those who do!
