Founded in 1965b by Dr Bob Smith who developed the first sealed thermal lens and breathable vent foam. During the 1960s he hand-built goggles in his garage and sold them out of his van on weekend ski trips in Utah and Colorado. Bob Smith was a true pioneer from the early days of snow sports, and over the next 5 decades, the Smith Optics brand grew to become one of the leading brands globally for eyewear and protection equipment.
