The Adidas Superstar is probably the brands most iconic shoe. Originally launched over 50 years ago as a basketball sneaker, the Superstar quickly became a global hit. Adopted by iconic hip hop groups such as Run DMC in the ’80s the shoe was cemented as a fashion icon. Through the ’90s and 2000s, sneaker collectors were a driving force for the shoes popularity, but it was also adopted but skateboards, in part because of its style and in part because it is so functional for skateboarding with its rubber toe cap. Now following the launch of the Adidas Skateboarding program, the Superstar has been included in the line up of retro classics reimagined with the use of skate shoe technology.
